Rumour: Guillem Balagué claims Lionel Messi on Manchester United's radar

Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona is being monitored by Manchester United

Spanish journalist Guillem Balagué has claimed that Manchester United are interested in bringing in Lionel Messi to Old Trafford this summer.

The Argentine’s situation at FC Barcelona was closely being monitored by PSG and Manchester City and it is rumoured that United are also considering a sensational move for the forward.

The four time Ballon d’or winner has been enduring a tough time at the Nou Camp with defeats that saw his side exit from the Champions League and lose the Copa Del Rey final.

Reports indicate that the little man has been frustrated with his life in Catalonia with recent criticism from the supporters and also with his role in the squad.

Meanwhile, there has been no word yet on the matter of his contract renewal and Guillem Balagué, who is closely associated with the Blaugranas and has written the biography of former boss Pep Guardiola, revealed that Barca have seriously contemplated about selling Messi.

Under such events, United alongwith heavyweights PSG and Manchester Citywould be surely tempted to make a move for the 26-year-old and they have already began their enquiry process by asking a few dependable sources on his current situation with Barcelona.
