In recent reports, Liverpool are said to have turned their attention to playmaking sensation Hernanes, who currently plays his trade in the Italian Serie A with Lazio.

The Brazilian caught the eye in the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 where he was sublime alongside Tottenham Hotspur star Paulinho in the middle of the park. The two, along with Neymar, were instrumental in Brazil’s 4th Confederations Cup triumph.

The 28-year has also been a mainstay in midfield for Lazio, racking up 40 goals in 154 appearances since his move to the Italian capital 3 years back.

With Lazio languishing in 9th place in the domestic league, some way off the Champions League qualification spot, Hernanes might favour a move to the Premier League to realise his dream of playing in the most elite competition of Europe.

If the Reds fail to bag primary target Mohamed Salah this winter, a move for the talented midfielder might be on. However, the Merseyside club will have to stump up a fee in excess of £15 million if they are to have any chance of landing the Lazio star.
