Pedro has found playing time hard to come by this season at the Camp Nou

Manchester United are plotting a move for Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez this summer as they look to boost their underachieving squad in the summer.

United have endured a heavily disappointing campaign which has culminated in rumours circulating that the Red Devils are set to dispense with the services of manager David Moyes after their failure to qualify for the Champions League was confirmed after a 2-0 defeat to Everton on Sunday.

United, however, are going to put their transfer plans in place regardless of who is leading the team into next season and according to the Metro, Pedro has caught their attentions after another frustrating season in which he has been in and out of the Barcelona side.

With both Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez reportedly eyeing the exit door at Old Trafford this summer, United are in the market for forwards who can operate on the flanks and Pedro is believed to fit the bill, with the player believed to be unhappy with his situation at Camp Nou.

Pedro’s agent, Francois Gallardo, told reporters, “Pedro is very angry this season. The player is in a difficult situation and could be sold.”

One potential sticking point for United, however, is the transfer embargo currently in place on Barcelona from UEFA, with their inability to sign replacements meaning they are unlikely to entertain bids for key squad members.
