According to the Daily Star, title contenders Manchester City are looking to bolster their squad with a shrewd move for unsettled Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna before the end of the January transfer window.

The talented Frenchman’s contract at the Emirates culminates in the summer, and is now entitled to negotiate with clubs over a potential transfer this winter, or in the summer.

Although a contract extension of 2 years worth £60,000-a-week is on the table, the defender is yet to make up his mind about extending his stay in North London with the Gunners.

Several teams are keeping tabs on the developments with the right back, including mega rich French side Monaco, who have reportedly offered a staggering £120,000-a-week – and a signing on fee of £10m spread over three years.

If Manchester City are able to lure Sagna, who they they tried to sign twice prior to this, he could become the 5th Arsenal player to move to the Etihad.
