Manchester United are all set to move in for Colombian international winger Juan Cuadrado in the January transfer window, according to reports.

The pacey winger has been on the radar for a number of clubs across Europe ever since he broke out last season with a series of dazzling performances for Fiorentina. Cuadrado’s stock rose even higher this summer when he, alongside James Rodrigues and Enner Valencia, led their Colombian national team to the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Cuadrado has long been linked with both Barcelona as well as United’s fierce cross-town rivals, Manchester City. But, it now seems as if that Ed Woodward and co. have their noses in front when it comes to signing the Latin American talent.

Capable of playing both as a right-winger as well as a right-back, Cuadrado might prove to be a shoe-in in Louis van Gaal’s scheme of things at Old Trafford with the Dutchman playing three at the back on a number of occasions with wing-backs brought in for support.

After buying his full ownership rights from Udinese earlier this year, Fiorentina however have slapped a £30million price tag on one of its crown jewels. However, if current trends are to be followed, money shouldn’t be any object of consideration for the Red Devils as the Glazers seem intent on providing all and sundry means of finance to bring Manchester United back into the reckoning in both England as well as Europe.
