Rumour: PSG's Edison Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi want to join Chelsea next season

Ezequiel Lavezzi of Paris Saint-Germain celebrates his goal with Edinson Cavani

Paris Saint German’s Edison Cavani and Ezequeil Lavezzi are thinking of joining Chelsea this summer.

Reports have hinted that the ex Napoli duo are ready to pack their bags and move to Stamford Bridge.

Cavani who joined the Parisians from Napoli for a transfer fee of 64.5 million € has been disappointed with his role at the club with the Uruguayan international having to play in a wide role instead of his usual central role due to the presence of the Swedish sensation Ibrahimovic.

Lavezzi on the other hand is unhappy too following his side’s quarter final exit in the Champions League and the Argentine is keen on joining their CL opponents in the next transfer window.

Chelsea who are currently in second place in the Premier League have been enduring inconsistency in the striking department and manager Jose Mourinho hasn’t been convinced by the performances of his available forwards.

After the Champions League fixture against PSG, the former Real Madrid boss disclosed his admiration for the duo saying that both Cavani and Lavezzi were the type of “real strikers” who would bring trophies for the Blues.

Although both parties may be interested in sealing a deal, the duo would cost a total of £80 million for club owner Roman Abramovic.

Cavani alone has a hefty price-tag of £55 million with a salary as high as £6 m-plus per season.
