Rumour: Real Madrid's Karim Benzema hands a transfer request, wants to join Manchester United

Is Karim Benzema heading out of Real Madrid?

Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, has reportedly handed in a shocking transfer request in order to make a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to Fichjaes, the 26-year-old apparently seems unsettled in Spain and has met with Madrid president Florentino Perez to reveal his plans of departure to a fresh new territory; preferably Manchester United for the next season.

Fichjaes have also reported that Perez wasn’t surprised by Benzema’s decision to head out this summer. He has lined up a big transfer move for the highly rated Liverpool forward Luis Suarez which may have forced Benzema to think about his future at the Spanish capital.

Benzema had a rough start to the 2013/14 campaign as he was booed by the Bernabeu faithful during the initial parts of the season. But the French international improved as the season progressed and has scored 24 goals in all competitions. Along with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, he has formed a formidable attacking trio in the form of ‘BBC.’

His club performances has been recognised by Didier Deschamps and the France manager has included him in the 2014 FIFA World Cup 30-man provisional squad.

Benzema was already a United target when he was playing for the French club Lyon. Ex-United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, had attempted to land the Frenchman at Old Trafford prior to his Real Madrid move.

United may need to sell RobinVan Persie or Wayne Rooney in order to guarantee Benzema a place in the starting line up. And it looks like the striker will wait to see how things turn out with the Premier League outfit.
