Rooney has to be dropped at least for a few games. It has to be 4-3-2-1 with Pogba, Marouane and Basti/Carrick in the middle, Mkhitaryan, Martial and Ibrahimovic up front and Rashford can be used in rotation along with others.

Chuba Chan ManUtd

Wayne Rooney is such a class leader. He gives the team a good spirit even though he is having a rough patch. I'm sure he will step up soon. There is only one Wayne Rooney and he is not done just yet.

Neelabhra Roy

Give him at least another two games. If he underperforms in those, then keep him on the bench. He shouldn't be dropped immediately because he is an amazing and versatile player. Besides, Manchester United need a leader and a motivator and in the current roster, that position cannot be occupied by anyone other than Rooney.

SK thinks: I’m pretty sure Zlatan makes for quite a leader figure. United players have come out and said it publicly.

Anirudh Sharma

No need to drop him! He is a good technical player. He is giving his hundred percent and is loyal to his club . It's not because of Rooney that the team is losing. It's because the team doesn’t have good chemistry with each other like at Manchester City . All they need is to be focused on their roles. Pogba is trying to score instead of trying to support his team from behind and create chances. That's what he is there for. Zlatan is amazing. The defence is a little uncoordinated. Mourinho must decide a regular stable team instead of changing the starting line up again and again.

4-3-3 will be the best-balanced formation for United, with the back four having enough cover when any of the midfielders go forward. For that Rooney must be dropped. If a player does not give what it takes, he deserves the bench, be it Rooney or anyone else. He is there because of United, and not the other way around.

Ugobee Iheanacho

Certainly he should. He is no longer as creative as he used to be. Get a certain Carrick and Herrera and play them with Pogba, then United will bounce back again. Everything Fellaini does for United at DM, Carrick does it better.

SK thinks: Go show Rooney how it’s done. You’ve certainly got the right name.

Ranjit Kumar

Why just focus on only Rooney? There are other players who are performing poorer than Rooney. Put every player’s name and photo and then ask the same question. Fellaini for example. He costs them games by giving free kicks away.

Rohit Pandey

No, not at all. We need him always, and the world knows that when he's under this kind of pressure he proves himself as well as the team.

Abdullah Raja

Just see his passing and shots skills. He has the best passing skills in attacking midfield. I think he should play as a striker today.

SK thinks: Hey Abdullah. We saw what you had to say and thought that it was a great idea. We got in touch with Jose Mourinho and told him what you said, and he agreed. You’re welcome.

Swapnil Kuwar

First of all, their wages should be reduced. 50% of the players are there just because of wages. They don’t play with heart.

Nikhilesh Roy

Rooney is a striker. If he plays in midfield then what is use of him in the team?
