SK Amaze: Dave Saves Manchester United, again

Dave Saves – as he has been doing for three years

If it were not for a faulty fax machine at Real Madrid, Manchester United would surely have lost this match.

Ok, that's a bit of a fetch, but there's no denying the fact that it was the Spanish goalkeeper that kept United in the game.

Mourinho sent out his XI with the clear dictat of taking home a draw and succeeded only because his no.1 was in such fine fettle. In fact, he produced two world class saves to keep United in the game.

This wasn’t the first time he’s done it against Liverpool many, many times before (as the below video shows), but this time, it was something even more special

The first was when Emre Can somehow managed to dig out a shot under extreme pressure from Chris Smalling. It was heading right into the bottom far corner when De Gea got down and with a strong right hand pushed it away. As anyone who has ever kept goal will tell you, getting down low is one of the hardest things to do as a goalkeeper, but De Gea made it look routine.

Even that, though, paled under the awesomeness of what happened 12 minutes later. As Philippe Coutinho worked an inch of space at the edge of the box, he unleashed a screamer that had top right corner written all over it.

9 times out of 10 that would have bulged the net. This time, though, it was David de Gea in goal. The United Player of the Year for the past three seasons threw himself at it and tipped it away with the fingers of his right hand

It was a magnificent save that deserves the #Amaze tag!
