SK Stat Attack – the best stats from a madcap Champions League night

Welcome back, Marco. You were missed

Borussia Dortmund and Legia Warsaw created history yesterday, Leicester continued to toy with their European opposition, Ronaldo didn't score but he did everything else and Tottenham Hotspur got knocked out.

We bring you the best stats from a madcap night of action in the Champions league.

12 – Borussia Dortmund 8- 4 Legia Warsaw holds the record for most goals in a CL game. The previous one was held by Monaco when they thrashed 8-3 Deportivo La Coruna in November 2003

48 – Number of attempts Borussia Dortmund had in the 2 games v Legia Warsaw. What insanity.

14 – Number of goals Borussia Dortmund had in the 2 games vs Legia Warsaw. Yes, they really did score that many.

5 - Borussia Dortmund v Legia Warsaw is the first game in CL history with five goals in the first 25 minutes. So many firsts!

10 - Borussia Dortmund have now scored 5+ goals in 10 separate games under Thomas Tuchel. Bloody 'ell.

1 – Marco Reus has scored his first ever hat-trick in the Champions League. And that on his return from a lengthy injury layoff. Now, THAT is how you make a return – are you watching Goldberg?

2 - Shinji Kagawa has scored two goals in a single Champions League game for the first time in his career. As Opta would have put it – Resurrection.

3 – Ousmane Dembele is the youngest player to assist 3+ goals in a Champions League game since 2003/04 (19 yo & 6 months). He also scored his first goal in European competition yesterday!
