Barcelona have already confirmed that the 2016-17 season will see the club revert to traditional vertical stripes on their home kit after sporting horizontal stripes in the current campaign. Footy Headlines, a reliable source on all future kits also confirmed that the Blaugrana away Jersey for the upcoming campaign will draw inspiration from the shirt worn by them in the mid-1990s and feature the colour teal.

To honour the silver jubilee of Barcelona's first-ever UEFA Champions league triumph in 1991-92, the new FC Barcelona 2016-17 shirt will be similar to that worn by them in the early 1990s. Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu revealed that the new Barcelona 2016-2017 shirt will feature a more reddish colour than recent shirts along with blue and crimson stripes

The Nike away kits for the 2016-17 season will be a fusion of teal and mint green with black as the preferred colour for all sponsor logos. The shirt draws its inspiration from the classic design Kappa away shirts worn by Johan Cruyff's 'Dream Team' when they were the reigning European Champions. Teal was also featured in the Kappa manufactured away kits worn by the Cules in their La Liga triumphs of '93 and '94. Both titles were clinched on the last day of the season from under the noses of rivals Real Madrid.

There were many surprised faces this season when Barcelona released their home kit which had their traditional colours in hoops instead of the usual stripes, although many have since taken to the change. However, their slight change in fortunes from last season hasn’t gone down too well.

Barcelona sit fourth in La Liga with 15 points from seven games, one point behind league leaders Villarreal. Barcelona will face off against Rayo Vallecano on 18th October,2015 when La Liga resumes after the international break. The Catalan club will once again be without talismanic forward Lionel Messi who faces a 2-month spell on the sidelines with injury.

It makes a relatively shaky start for Luis Enrique's side all the more difficult. It’s worth noting, though, that the reigning Spanish champions won the treble last time after a less than perfect start last year around too but it will draw concern nonetheless.

Like Barcelona’s future, even their next kit launch is difficult to process so early in the season but the club will be hoping that both of them go down well with the fans, whose expectations as always are high.
