Sneijder's agent, Inter rubbish Anzhi rumours

Milan - Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder’s agent has joined the club in denying reports that the Dutch international may move to Russian Premier League big-spenders Anzhi.

Sniejder has been heavily linked to a move away from Inter, where he faces fierce competition for a first-team place, and the Italian and Russia media have claimed he could follow his former teammate Samuel Eto’o to Anzhi.

“Going to Anzhi? No, it’s not true, it’s just speculation,” agent Soren Lerby said.

“We have never received an offer or a call from Russia on Wes,” club official Marco Branc said.

Sneijder, 28, moved to Inter in 2009 from Real Madrid and has scored 12 goals in 71 appearances since then, winning Serie A and the Champions League in 2010.

He struggled last season with injuries and poor form as he made 25 appearances, five of them from the bench.

Despite having three years to run on his contract, Sneijder has been linked with a return to Real or a move to Manchester United or AC Milan.

A Dutch international since 2003, Sneijder has 87 caps and 25 goals and played in the 2010 World Cup final.
