Southampton confirm the signing of FC Twente’s Dusan Tadic

Southampton sign Dusan Tadic from FC Twente

Southampton have moved quickly to replace Adam Lallana, who joined Liverpool, by signing FC Twente’s highly-rated attacking midfielder, Dusan Tadic.

The 25-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the club to become Ronald Koeman’s first ever signing for the Saints.

Southampton are facing a huge exodus of their star players this summer after Rickie Lambert, Lallana and Luke Shaw have already left. Manager Mauricio Pochettino started the exodus by replacing Tim Sherwood as Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Central defender Dejan Lovren and midfielder, Morgan Schneiderlin, are also expected to leave with plenty of interest from Liverpool and Arsenal, respectively.

However, Koeman has kicked off his era by bringing in the exciting and very talented Tadic. The attacking midfielder spent two years with Twente in the Eredivisie, becoming a star in the division and earning rave reviews.

He was tipped to sign for a club higher up their league around Europe, but Southampon’s campaign under Pochettino has set them up well to challenge for a European spot next season.

Tadic scored 16 goals for Twente last season so clearly has an eye for goal.
