Sportskeeda's take on the EPL transfer rumours of 28th July

Max Meyer
Could this highly rated German youngster be playing in front of the KOP this coming season?

In our latest section on transfers, we’ve been analyzing the best transfer rumours doing the rounds. Most of the Premier League clubs are busy with their pre-season training but are still trying to make further additions to their squad.

Today, we talk about the futures of Bundesliga attackers Max Meyer, Leroy Sane, and Yunus Malli. We have done an in-depth analysis on the English Premier League transfer rumours of 28th July.

Max Meyer to Liverpool

Liverpool have been linked to Schalke star Max Meyer, after failing to sign Leroy Sane. Meyer was asked about the rumours linking him to Liverpool, and the player admitted he is happy at Schalke. Meyer, however, said ‘Klopp is a great coach’ and ‘someone who appreciates him as a player’.

Experts say: Experts believe Liverpool aren’t going to be signing another attacker this summer, so a move for Meyer can be ruled out.

Our take: We’d also like to think the same at the moment. Liverpool have plenty of attacking options, and need to offload the likes of Lazar Markovic, Christian Benteke, and Mario Balotelli before thinking of signing anyone else. It’s a bit unlikely Liverpool will sign Meyer in this transfer window.

Chances of it happening: 4/10

Leroy Sane to Manchester City

Leroy Sane
Sane looks like he will soon be a Manchester City player

Schalke star Leroy Sane is on the verge of signing for Manchester City, reports Bild. It is reported that both parties are in the final stages of negotiations, and that Sane has already said goodbye to Schalke fans after training yesterday.

Experts say: The English and German media believe a deal is very close, and that Manchester City have got their man.

Our take: Sane has been a long-term target for Manchester City, and they always seemed ready to go big for Sane thus summer. Manchester City are expected to wrap up a €50 million deal for Sane soon, which should also include performance-based bonuses. Pep Guardiola is reportedly a big fan of Sane after watching him closely in the Bundesliga.

Chances of it happening: 9/10

Yunus Malli to Tottenham

Yunus Mali
The German-born Turkey international has caught the eye of Spurs scouts

According to German daily Bild, Tottenham are still interested in signing Mainz star Yunus Malli. The player is expected to cost around €10 million and has confirmed he isn’t sure about his future.

Experts say: The experts are silent on this one at the moment, and it remains to be seen whether Malli will make the move to White Hart Lane.

Our take: Tottenham were heavily linked with Malli a few months ago, and it seems Bild have just recycled the news. There doesn’t seem to be any concrete interest from Tottenham at the moment, and it remains to be seen if the Premier League club are genuinely interested. Malli had admitted he isn’t sure about his future at the club, but a move to Tottenham doesn’t appear to be close at least at the moment.

Chances of it happening: 5/10
