Stat Check: Chelsea may have already won the Premier League title

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho

An interesting analysis from The Gliff suggests Chelsea may have already secured another Premier League title. The last couple of time Jose Mourinho’s side reigned on the Premier League after seven weeks of league football, they went on to win the title.

During Mourinho’s 2004-05 Premier League campaign, Chelsea were on top of the table with a two point lead over Arsenal. They went on to win the title that season with a comfortable 12-point margin. Again in 2005-06 season, the Londoners were off the blocks with some promising results, collecting all 21 points up for grabs in the first seven games. They went on to defend their league title with an 8-point margin.

In the current season, we see a similar pattern of results as Chelsea remain unbeaten on top of the league table – 5 points ahead of Manchester City.

Clearly, the numbers back the Portuguese manager to bring home another Premier League title for the Chelsea fans.
