Cesc Fabregas – The most creative midfielder in the Premier League?

Chelsea have been in red-hot form this year with all of their players performing very well. However, there has been one player who has played a key role in the Blues’ dominance this year and he is Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard, who had a successful spell at Arsenal between 2003 and 2011 before he moved back home to Barcelona.

Due to a packed midfield consisting of the likes of Xavi and Iniesta, Fabregas couldn’t find a permanent spot in the Catalan giants’ starting line-up, playing in only 96 games. He was bought earlier this year by Chelsea for a sum of €33 million on a five-year deal and has created an immediate impact at the club.

Since 2006, the 27-year-old has contributed in the most number of successful final third passes playing for Chelsea with 64 in a game with West Brom in 2014. He is followed by Paul Scholes with 58, who is joint second with Yaya Toure.

In another impressive stat, Fabregas is a close second when it comes to the most number of touches in a game with 174. Yaya Toure leads the pack with 175. The Spaniard is once again at third position with 162.

Fabregas once again leads the pack with the most number of final third passes in a game with 72. He himself stands third on the list with 65 in a game against Birmingham City in 2008.
