We’re one-third into the club football season in Europe and it is the usual suspects who are beginning to run away with the accolades giving a fair idea about who will fight it out for various individual awards. Three tables have been shown below. Table 1 shows the list of top 10 goalscorers in the Top 5 European leagues – English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1. Table 2 has a list of players with most assists in the top 5 leagues.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the runaway leader in goals scored notching up a staggering 20 strikes already. To compliment that tally, he has also got 6 assists. His great rival Lionel Messi, who incidentally became the highest scorer in La Liga history via a hat-trick against Sevilla, has 10 goals and 7 assists. Ronaldo, though made a record of his own. Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas has got the most league assists in the whole of Europe as he leads with 10.
3 players each from the Premier League and La Liga, 2 players from Ligue 1 forwards and 2 Serie A stars make it to the list.
Cristiano Ronaldo leads the pack followed by Aguero, Lacazette, Gignac and Costa.
Barcelona duo Messi and Neymar also make it to the list and so does Arsenal’s talisman Alexis Sanchez. The surprise name on the list is Napoli’s Jose Callejon.
