Stoke City have secured the services of former Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf and Slovak defender Dionatan Teixeira. The Premier League club announced both signings on their official website on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Diouf has prior experience of playing in the Premier League, from his unsuccessful stint with Manchester United in 2009. Since signing for German club Hanover 96 in 2012, the Senegalese striker showcased his goal scoring exploits by netting 25 goals in 57 league appearances for German side, making him a fan favourite back in Germany.

With his current deal set to expire on July 1, Diouf will move to the Britannia Stadium on a four-year deal hoping to make a better impact on the Premier League this time around.

Chief executive Tony Scholes was “delighted” with his signature and said: "(Manager) Mark Hughes has wanted to sign Mame since he took over as manager last year. We tried to get him last summer and made another attempt in January, so we're naturally delighted to have finally secured his services.

"He has been a tremendous success in Germany as his record underlines and he is keen to return to England to make an impact in the Premier League. We're pleased to be able to give him the platform to hopefully achieve that ambition."

Teixeira on the other hand is a 21-year-old Brazil-born centre back, who arrives from Slovak side Banska Bystrica for an undisclosed fee. The Slovak under-21 international became the club’s fourth summer signing, following the arrival of Phil Bardsley, Steve Sidwell and the aforementioned Diouf.

On Teixeira, Scholes added: "We have been following Dionatan's progress for some time and we're delighted to have secured his services because there's no doubt he's a talented player with a great deal of potential."
