TAL Season 3: Gameweek 10 Preview – TAL “Crystal Ball”

Nikhil Gopal and Parikrma could well wrap up the title this week against Mavericks FC

TAL resumes after a two-week break with a busy day in the offing. The action is kicked off with a Division 2 game between Athlos United and Joras followed by six Division 1 games. FC Kougen Kikou clash against Mercurial after which Gremio take on Yataghan.

The top three sides, Parikrma, Horizons and Supernova play Mavericks, Samba and Project 7 after which Flipkart take on Rare Dare to round things off for the day.

Division 2

7:15 AM – Athlos United v Joras

The early kick-off sees Athlos United take on a resurgent Joras side. While Joras’ performances have been vastly improved over the last few weeks, the same cannot be said of Athlos, although they have managed to eke out results. This contrasting form may jeopardize Athlos’ promotion hopes, who need to win this game to stay alive for the playoff spot at the least. Recent displays from Joras though, suggests that a close game is on the cards.

Crystal Ball: Athlos United 1-1 Joras

Division 1

8:30 AM – FC Kougen Kikou v Mercurial FC

FC Kougen Kikou take on bottom dwellers Mercurial FC in the first Division 1 game of the day. From being relegation threatened, FCKK have climbed to safety with consecutive wins and much of the same can be expected here too. Mercurial though, are not entirely out of it either but an escape from relegation does seem far-fetched at this point. FCKK can be expected to easily win this one if they continue to play the way they have been over the past few weeks.

Crystal Ball: FC Kougen Kikou 2-0 Mercurial FC

10:00 AM – Yataghan Internazionale v Gremio FC

Yataghan and Gremio clash in the third game of the day. Gremio are seriously threatened with relegation now and will need as many points as they can garner in the next two weeks. Yataghan are sitting pretty in 5th and can begin preparing for next season in Division 1, although they will not take this lightly by any stretch of imagination. Gremio will have to bring their ‘A’ game and win this one or will surely find themselves in the relegation zone come their last game of the season against Project 7.

Crystal Ball: Yataghan Internazionale 0-1 Gremio FC

11:30 AM – Supernova FC v Project 7

3rd place takes on 6th place in the last game before lunch when Supernova and Project 7 clash. Both teams have only pride to play for as Supernova are already out of the title race while Project 7 look to be heading for a mid-table finish. Supernova though, will want to hang on to third place at the least and will look to win this game.

For Project 7, this is another game where they can test how far they have come as a team by pitting their wits against top quality side. Supernova should win this one although Project 7 will not go down without a fight.

Crystal Ball: Supernova FC 2-0 Project 7

1:15 PM – Parikrma v Mavericks FC

Fresh from the first dropped points of their season, Parikrma play Mavericks FC in what should be an easy game for the imminent champions. Mavericks look to be heading for relegation unless they can pull a rabbit out of the hat in this game and their last one against Rare Dare, both of which seem unlikely. Parikrma, by winning this game can put the title out of Horizons’ reach and wrap things up for the season, which will give them even more impetus to go out and win this one.

Crystal Ball: Parikrma 3-0 Mavericks FC

2:45 PM – Samba FC v Horizons FC

Samba FC face Horizons FC in the penultimate game of the day. With Horizons’ chances of winning the title now very bleak, this will be more of an important game for Samba FC. They are in danger of dropping into the playoff spot for relegation and have another tough game against FC Kougen Kikou in the pipeline. That said, this will still be a hard game for Samba to take points off and will need a drastic shake up in attack to threaten the Horizons goal.

Crystal Ball: Samba FC 0-2 Horizons FC

4:15 PM – Flipkart FC v Rare Dare FC

Probably the most intriguing clash of the day, Flipkart and Rare Dare lock horns in the final game of Gameweek 10. Rare Dare have put in some strong performances this season while Flipkart themselves are coming off a brilliant victory over Horizons in the last game. With only three points separating the two teams in the table, this could be a tighter game than one expects. Both teams have solid attacking players and the prospect of a goal-fest cannot be discounted too.

Crystal Ball: Flipkart FC 2-2 Rare Dare FC
