World Cup winning superstar Thomas Muller said that Cristiano Ronaldo winning the Ballon d’Or will “almost be boring”. The Bayern Munich forward is also quite sure that Lionel Messi does not deserve to be on the shortlist for the Ballon d’Or.
“The idea of Ronaldo winning the award for a second consecutive year is almost boring,” Muller told Sky Sports. “Another player could have been chosen in Messi’s place. Arjen Robben, for example, has played exceptionally well. There are also others from the German national team who deserved to be there, while Neuer has to his advantage that he won the World Cup and produced some great performances.”
