What makes this list interesting is that following eight weeks of La Liga action and three weeks of Champions League action, only two out of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid make this list. On the other hand, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal features in the top 5!

Let us take a look at the top 10 attacking trios in Europe’s top 5 leagues so far this season.

#10 Chelsea – Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Willian (13 goals)

While four trios (Lyon, Juventus, Monaco, Chelsea) are on par on13 goals, the Chelsea trio makes the cut owing to their presence in just the Premier League. Antonio seems to have found the best XI with back to back victories against Manchester United and defending champions Leicester City.

With the defence doing their duties and this trio firing, Chelsea is steadily climbing their way up the table.

#9 Atletico Madrid – Antoine Griezmann, Yannick Carrasco, Kevin Gameiro (14 goals)

Having possibly the best defensive unit in the world right now, Atletico Madrid is slowly transforming into an unbeatable side with this trio amassing goals on a consistent basis. The French forward, Antoine Griezmann has carried his impressive form from the Euros while Yannick Carrasco and Kevin Gameiro have stepped up to support the forward and provide an uphill task for the opposition.

#8 Borussia Dortmund – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raphael Guerreiro, Gonzalo Castro (16 goals)

Aubameyang continues his scintillating form from last season having already scored 10 goals. Other players among the goals for Borussia Dortmund are Gonzalo Castro and Raphael Guerreiro with 3 goals each. The Euro 2016 winner, Guerreiro, has been impressive along the left flank having also provided 5 assists.

#7 Manchester City – Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Nolito (17 goals)

After an underwhelming performance at Euro 2016, Raheem Sterling has silenced the critics with a string of impressive performances under Pep Guardiola. Sergio Aguero is among the goals as always, while the new signing Nolito has made his mark in the league as well. Guardiola debut Premier League campaign will very much depend on how this trio fares in the future.

#6 Bayern Munich – Robert Lewandowski, Joshua Kimmich, Arjen Robben (17 goals)

Joshua Kimmich has now become a crucial cog in the Bayern Munich team. Operating at right back when the team needs, Kimmich has also been exceptionally sensational in the midfield role scoring a total of 7 goals so far. Other players amongst the goals for Bayern Munich are veterans Lewandowski and Arjen Robben, who have 7 and 3 goals respectively.

#5 Roma – Edin Dzeko, Mohamed Salah, Diego Perotti (18 goals)

After joining Roma from Manchester City at the beginning of last season, Edin Dzeko failed to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. He managed to score just 8 goals in 31 league appearances. However, he seems to have redeemed himself with a sensational start to the season having already scored 8 goals in 9 league appearances. Doing the job for Roma alongside him are Mohamed Salah and the new signing Diego Perotti, with 6 and 4 goals respectively.

#4 Napoli – Arkadiusz Milik, Jose Callejon, Dries Mertens (18 goals)

Following an impressive campaign in Euro 2016, Polish forward Arkadiusz Milik was signed by Napoli in August. The Polish forward has been outstanding so far having scored 7 goals, as many as the former Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain. Partnering him in attack are Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens, with a trio sharing a total of 18 goals among them, same as the Roma trio. However, they are a step ahead as this trio has contributed to more of the teams total goals (72%).

#3 Arsenal – Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil (20 goals)

Much to the bliss of the Arsenal fans, they finally have a top trio to celebrate following the legendary trio of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Freddie Ljungberg. The assist king is among the goals this season having already scored 6 goals, which includes a hat-trick in the recent Champions League fixture. Theo Walcott is getting better with each appearance along the right flank while Alexis Sanchez seems to be enjoying his role upfront.

#2 PSG – Edinson Cavani, Lucas, Layvin Kurzawa (21 goals)

A string of below average performances at the start of the season raised questions about Cavani’s impact in the absence of Ibrahimovic. However, Cavani is now back to his goal scoring ways having scored 13 goals in just 11 appearances this season. Partnering Cavani in attack is speedster Lucas, who has netted 6 times while the attacking full back Kurzawa has contributed to the tally with his two goals. Of the 25 goals scored by PSG, 21 goals have been scored by this trio.

#1 Barcelona – Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar (28 goals)

Arguably the best trio of all time, MSN continues to tear any top opposition with their lethal but selfless play in front of goal. They share a total of whooping 28 goals which is 7 more than the second best. They also share 19 assists in the league and Champions League combined, marking their supremacy over any other trio in the world right now.
