Stats: Top scoring European clubs of respective leagues in 2015/16 season so far

The Dortmund trio have scored 24 goals already this season

The new season of domestic leagues across the continent of Europe has kicked off and some of the teams have announced themselves on the scene with a blistering start while others have endured contrasting fortunes as they have started off on a quieter note.

The big guns have begun their new campaign in a convincing manner including the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and PSG who have flourished in the opponent’s half, scoring goals at ease. On the other hand, some usual suspects, most notably Chelsea and Barcelona, haven’t found it easy to penetrate defences with ease and find the back of the net as often as one would expect them to.

So far in the new season, Borussia Dortmund have shown some impeccable form in the initial stages as their trio of Marco Reus, Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have hit the right form and have combined excellently to score staggering 24 goals in 9 games across all competitions. In the Bundesliga, the Yellow Army have found the net of 15 occasions and have conceded 3 in the process.

League rivals Bayern Munich aren’t far away as they have netted a total of 12 goals in the three games they have played so far. Thomas Muller has been their top scorer as he has 8 goals in all competitions to his name already.

Following the German giants are Premier League’s powerhouse Manchester City who have scored 11 goals but have conceded none thus maintaining a perfect clean sheet record in their first five fixtures. But the story of the season so far have been Leicester City who under Claudio Ranieri have taken the league by storm and are joint top-scorers in England with 11 goals.

In Spain, Real Madrid, after drawing their first game against Gijon, have got off to a flying start scoring 5 goals against Real Betis and 6 against Espanyol respectively. Meanwhile, Barcelona have only managed to net 4- a surprising stat considering the devastating attack force they have in the form of Messi, Suarez and Neymar.

In the other major leagues, Ajax sit on the top of the Dutch Eredivisie table having scored 14 goals to ensure a solid start to their new season. French champions Paris Saint-German have the best numbers in their league with 9 goals from 5 games.
