Rio de Janeiro, Nov 12 Unsettled Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho has denied speculation linking him with a return to Brazilian club Corinthians.

The 26-year-old Brazil international has played just eight matches this season and only one in the Premier League, reported Xinhua.

Earlier this month Corinthians presidential candidate Roberto de Andrade named Paulinho as a prime target should he win February's vote for the club leadership.

"I'm proud of the praise," Paulinho told Radio ESPN. "I'm happy that Roberto and Corinthians have recognized that."

"A lot of people are seeing that I'm not playing much for Tottenham. There is interest from Brazilian and European clubs, but nothing concrete. I can guarantee that there are no proposals."

Paulinho joined Tottenham from Corinthians for 17 million pounds in July 2013, just weeks after playing a leading role in Brazil's Confederations Cup triumph.

Despite a lack of opportunities under manager Mauricio Pocchetino this season, Paulinho says he is not giving up hope of remaining at White Hart Lane.

"I have always tried to fulfill my contracts in the best way possible," he said. "Tottenham invested a lot of money for me to go there. Right now I can't think about a transfer."
