Serie A

Medhi Benatia
Juventus may bring in Medhi Benatia to bolster their defence

- Roma president James Pallotta has ruled out selling Radja Nainggolan this summer but has admitted that they may not be able to make Miralem Pjanic stay. Nainggolan had earlier confirmed Chelsea’s interest in signing him while Pjanic has been linked with Juventus and Barcelona.

"I keep on telling you that Nainggolan is going nowhere," Pallotta told reporters upon arriving in the Italian capital. "Pjanic is staying too, but if somebody is willing to pay his release clause -- and we can't do anything about this -- then that's not our problem. He's got a contract with us, but he also has this clause in it."

- Juventus are reportedly targeting Bayern Munich defender Medhi Benatia as they look to strengthen their defence. The Moroccan international has failed to nail down a starting berth in the team due to inconsistent performances and persistent injuries. According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the Italian giants want a loan deal with an option to buy for the 29-year-old due to his injury-prone nature.

- Juventus’ midfielder Hernanes has sparked interest from China and could leave the club this summer in favour of Shanghai SIPG or Jiangsu Suning. The 31-year-old signed for the Old Lady last summer and has featured only 14 times for the club since. According to Tuttosport, Hernanes could be allowed to leave Turin for a sum in the region of €8.5 million, which is likely to be met by the Chinese sides. Players like Fredy Guarin and Gervinho have also left the Serie A for China in the past.

Jamie Vardy
Leicester City are planning a counter-offer to make Jamie Vardy stay

- Eden Hazard has expressed his desire to stay at Chelsea, dispelling rumours of a move to PSG.

“PSG are not part of my plans," the 25-year-old told TeleFoot. "I have a contract until 2020, I feel good here and I don't want to finish on a season like that. I left Lille as a boss, and I'd like to leave Chelsea as a boss, if I do leave one day. But for the time being I'm here, of course."

- Leicester City are targeting Southampton’s Victor Wanyama as a replacement for N’Golo Kante, as suggested in reports by The Star. Kante has been said to be on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain, and reports have suggested that the Paris-based club has made a five-year offer to the player via his agent. The French international was crucial to Leicester’s title-winning campaign and Wanyama has been singled out by the club to fill in his shoes.

- Sky Sports have reported that Everton and Southampton are close to agreeing a £5million compensation deal for Southampton’s manager Ronald Koeman to take over at Goodison Park. Koeman was on top of the Merseyside club’s list ever since Roberto Martinez was sacked and an announcement regarding the Dutch manager’s appointment could be made within the next 24 hours.

- Leicester City are planning to make a counter-offer to convince Jamie Vardy to stay with the club within the next 24 hours, reports the Daily Telegraph. Earlier reports suggested that the England striker has been in talks with Arsenal after the Gunners triggered the release clause in his contract with a £20million bid.

Javier Macherano
Javier Mascherano has confirmed that Barcelona want him to stay

- Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane is looking to add a left-back, a midfielder and a striker to his current squad, reports AS. The Los Blancos earlier had a bid for David Alaba rejected, and are likely to go for Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez instead. Their midfield targets include Juventus’ Paul Pogba, Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante and PSG’s Marco Veratti. They have also identified Bundesliga-based pair of Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as their prime attacking targets.

- Sevilla are planning to bring in Watford’s manager Quique Sanchez Flores as a replacement for the sought-after Unai Emery, according to reports by Marca. Emery guided Sevilla to their third consecutive Europa League trophy this season, and is said to be chased by PSG and Southampton. Sanchez Flores left Watford after just one season of being in charge, and has been said to be in talks with Espanyol. However, Sevilla’s transfer chief Monchi wants the Spanish coach to wait before accepting that job as he wants Flores to take over in case Emery leaves.

- Javier Mascherano has confirmed that he will stay at Camp Nou.

The Argentinian told South American daily, Ole: “Barcelona have let me know that they have no intention to let me go, that they are very happy with me.

“When a club, especially this club, says that to you it is very difficult to leave. I do not want to force anything. There is the opportunity to leave, but also to remain. I will not do anything that could ruin my relationship with Barcelona, which has always been good. I would not leave a bitter taste in the mouth.”

Dortmund will reportedly demand around €35 million for Mkhitaryan, who has also been linked with Chelsea, should he fail to prolong his deal.
