Welcome to our daily transfer rumours round-up section. Reportedly Arsenal have offered a former star to return to the club, whilst Liverpool have agreed to let go of a long-serving player.
Manchester United are in negotiations with a Premier League side for a winger, and Juventus are interested in signing a certain French midfielder.
Here are the transfer rumours doing the rounds on 2nd August:
Serie A
- Napoli are on the verge of signing Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski, reports Corriere dello Sport. Napoli already had an agreement with Udinese, and it seems they’ve also convinced the player now.
- Thomas Vermaelen is expected to leave Barcelona this summer. AS Roma are interested in the services of the Belgian international, reports Gianluca di Marzio. The Serie A side want Vermaelen on loan with an option to buy while Barcelona want €15m for him.
- According to Tuttosport, Juventus are interested in signing Blaise Matuidi to replace Paul Pogba. Matuidi could be leaving Paris-Saint Germain this summer, after the arrival of Grzegorz Krychowiak.
Premier League
- According to France Football, Mamadou Sakho is set to remain at Anfield despite being sent back home from the club’s pre-season tour. His agent has also denied contact with AS Roma.
- David Moyes is said to be interested in the services of Adnan Januzaj. According to Tutto Mercato Web, Manchester United and Sunderland are in negotiations for the Belgian winger.
- According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Thomas Vermaelen has an offer to return to Arsenal, and one from West Ham on his table. The Belgian international is expected to leave Barcelona this summer.
- Chelsea are reportedly interested in the services of Ivan Perisic. His agent has revealed clubs like Barcelona and Chelsea are interested in Perisic, and that he isn’t sure if he’d stay at Inter.
La Liga
- Paris-Saint Germain boss has revealed the club are interested in signing Jese Rodriguez. According to Mundo Deportivo, Zidane has already told the player he wouldn’t get regular playing time this season.
- Valencia are looking for a replacement of Andre Gomes. Reports in the Turkish media suggest they’re interested in the services of former Arsenal and Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.
- According to Super Deporte, Valencia are interested in signing Deportivo de La Coruña’s Sidnei, and have already started negotiations. Jorge Mendes is also believed to be involved in the negotiations.
Bundesliga
- Leroy Sane has completed his move to Manchester City from Schalke. The German international is set to earn €6m a season at the Etihad. A fee of £37m plus add-ons was agreed between both the clubs.
- Jakub Blaszczykowski has signed for Wolfsburg in a €5m deal, reports Kicker. The Polish international spent the last season on loan at Fiorentina, and was also linked with a move to Liverpool.
- Juventus are looking to sell Hernanes. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing Hernanes as well was Mauricio Isla. Hamburg are also in the race to sign Hernanes.
Rest of Europe
- Southampton have announced the signing of OGC Nice defender Jeremy Pied. The 27-year-old signed on a free transfer, and has been given a two-year contract at St.Mary’s.
- Former French international Jeremy Menez has signed for Bordeaux on a free transfer. The player has signed a two-year contract, whilst AC Milan will continue to pay the player’s wages for the next six months.
- According to reports in the Turkish media, Galatasaray have agreed on a fee with Liverpool for Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva. The player is now expected to travel to Turkey this week to complete his medicals and other formalities.
