Welcome to our daily transfer rumours round-up. Today’s big news comes from Emirates where Arsenal have all but agreed a £43million deal for the highly rated attacker despite an initial bid being turned down.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are certain to sign the Manchester United target after club President met with the Blues officials earlier this week. Meanwhile, Watford have agreed a €15million move for Juventus playmaker.

On that note, here are the most popular transfer news and rumours doing the rounds on August 17th.

Serie A

- It’s reported Juventus have agreed to a deal to sell Roberto Pereyra to Watford for €15m. Gazzetta dello Sports have reported that Juventus General Manager Giuseppe Marotta has given them a direct quote where he said: “decided one way or the other”. Pereyra is expected to sign a 5-year contract.

- Napoli are continuing talks with former Juventus defender Martin Caceres, according to Football Italia. Caceres is a free agent after quitting Juventus at the end of his contract earlier this summer. The Uruguayan international is also linked with a move to AS Roma.

- Genoa have officially confirmed the signing of Giovanni Simeone, son of Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone. The striker arrives from River Plate, having scored 12 goals in 29 matches while on loan at Banfield last season.

Bundesliga

Mario Gomez has returned to the Bundesliga

- Wolfsburg have announced they have signed Mario Gomez from Fiorentina. Gomez, 31, spent last season on loan with Besiktas but opted against staying with the Turkish champions due to the political turmoil in the country. Gomez turned down an interest from Borussia Dortmund and West Ham.

- Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that he will not sign any new player to bring in as a replacement for the injured Kingsley Coman. French International injured his ankle in training and is expected to be out for 'indefinite period of time'.

- Napoli are considering a late swoop for Juventus forward Simone Zaza who was linked with a move to Wolfsburg. Juventus could not agree a fee with the Bundesliga club which has promoted Napoli to make a late bid for the Italian international.

Premier League

Ricardo Rodriguez has again been linked with a move away from Wolfsburg

- Chelsea are preparing a £22million bid for Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez to sort out their defensive options. Antonio Conte has failed to sign the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, and Kalidou Koulbaly which has forced The Blues to shift their target. Rodriguez was previously linked with a move to Arsenal but Gunners failed to agree a deal with the Bundesliga side.

- According to TransferMarketWeb, Arsenal are preparing a £43 million offer to try and persuade Wolfsburg to let go of their star man Julian Draxler. Although Wolfsburg are reluctant to sell Draxler, the Gunners are desperate to add an attacker to their squad before the end of summer transfer window.

- Manchester United’s rumoured move for Gabriel Barbosa is off, according to the player’s agent and club president. According to Brazil publication UOL, Santos president Modesto Roma met with Chelsea representatives earlier this week but is yet to receive a formal offer for the 19-year-old attacker.

La Liga

- According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have offered Real Madrid an intriguing loan offer to sign Matteo Kovacic this summer. According to reports, Milan are hoping to sign Kovacic on a long-term loan deal and will allow Madrid to insert a buy-back clause in to Kovacic’s exit.

- Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has denied any news of offering himself to Barcelona amid Claudio Bravo’s impending move to Manchester City. Reina took to Twitter and said: “Crap !! I have not offered anywhere !! Just to bujie ... Always and forever Forza Napoli !! Now get ready for Sunday ! clear?”

- Real Madrid are interested in accepting an offer from West Ham to loan their talented midfield star Martin Odegaard. The 17-year-old is tipped to quit Bernabeu this summer with Marseille and Lyon linked with the midfielder.

Mario Balotelli: On his way to the Championship?

- Swindon Town have announced that they have completed the official signing of Nathan Delfouneso. Delfouneso pens a one-year deal with Swindon subject to clearance from the EFL and the FA.

- Reports in England claim Championship side Wolves are interested in Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli. The forward spent last season on loan with Milan, but the Rossoneri opted not to make the move permanent and he’s not wanted at Anfield.
