Transfer Rumours: Real Madrid and Barcelona keeping tabs on Evander Ferreira

The Brazilian has already garnered attention from Europe’s top clubs

Despite the end of the transfer deadline day on the 1st of September, the top La Liga clubs have already started working in search of the finest youth talents. South America is one such continent where the best young players are produced, for which top clubs regularly visit the continent to scout the most skilled players.

Spanish rivals Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are now keeping a tab on Brazilian youth sensation Evander Ferreira who plays for club Vasco da Gama.

The 18-year old has only played 10 games with the first squad but has already made an impression globally despite no goals to his account. His performances have led Vasco da Gama being crowned as the winners for the Carioca Division I.

Ferreira has already played with the U-17 Brazilian national team, winning the South American U-17 trophy.

In the summer transfer window, the two La Liga giants were also interested in signing striker Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras. But unfortunately, Pep Guardiola convinced the Brazilian to come to England and join Manchester City. Signing for a whopping fee of €32m, Gabriel Jesus went on to shine at the latest Rio Olympics, winning a gold medal as a part of captain Neymar’s team.

Los Blancos have always been keen when it comes to signing South American talent. In the current transfer window, Real Madrid signed Sergio Diaz from Cerro Porteño. The Champion League winners paid a fee of €5 million for the youngster, who is currently playing at Real Madrid Castilla, the B team of Real Madrid.

Martin Odegaard who also signed from Norway last summer is another example of the transfer policy of club President Florentino Perez, who has always been desperate to get the best talents at the Bernabeu.

Rivals Barcelona also have an excellent youth system that comprises of the best players. While many of them don’t get to the first team easily, they make their name as they go on to play for the other top flight clubs in Europe.

Barcelona have recently loaned out youngsters Sergi Samper to Granada and Munir El Haddadi to Valencia in the summer transfer window. Neymar knows Ferreira well and could convince him with a move to the Camp Nou.

However, before making any move for the player, Real Madrid and Barcelona are eager to see how the 18-year-old plays in the Brazilian second division this year. Top clubs from Serie A and Chelsea are also said to be keeping tabs on the player.
