Uefa has announced a 32 players list for the Best Player in Europe award in the 2011-12 season. Besides Ronaldo and Messi, players like David Silva, Balotelli, Joe Hart and Manchester United’s new signing Shinji Kagawa were listed.
The award was created only last year. Barcelona star, Lionel Messi won the previous year in most convincing fashion, beating his close rival Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona club mate Xavi Hernandez by a huge margin. This year there is a possibility of having a new winner as Barcelona were unable to retain La Liga and UEFA Champions League. After winning back to back Euro championship, many people consider Real Madrid and Spanish custodian Iker Casillas to win this award.
Though in the next month, this 32-player list will be shorted to 3, from which the winner of the Best Player in Europe will be chosen.
