Manchester United transfer news: Van Persie might leave United for Fenerbache, Dragovic and De Vrij for defence

Robin van Persie might be on his way out of Manchester United

Robin van Persie might be on his way out of Manchester United this summer after reports of Turkish side Fenerbache supposedly readying a bid. Louis van Gaal might be ready to offload the player this summer as Van Persie has not performed up to the Dutchman’s standards. Van Persie has only managed to score 10 goals this season, before being sidelined through a long-term ankle problem that saw him out of a majority of last month’s fixtures.

The chances of the player being sold are also high as he is 31-years-old at the moment, and hasn’t made much contribution to the team this season. But on the other hand Van Persie’s potential could be the reason to not let him go, as he was the Premier League’s top scorer two consecutive years.

Also, United are targetting new defenders for the next season with names like Aleksandar Dragovic and Stefan de Vrij being linked with the club.

De Vrij has strongly been linked with United ever since van Gaal was appointed as the manager. However, the Netherland international claims he is not interested in leaving Lazio just yet.

Dragovic though is the most likely of the two to sign, as the Austrian was not completely dismissive of the idea to play in the Premier League. He claims the idea has been “buzzing around” his mind.

Among both the players De Vrij would ideally be a safer signing, but Dragovic is more versatile as he can play as both, defensive midfielder and center back.
