Adnan Januzaj celebrates his goal

Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj made a strong case for selection in the senior team against Everton with a sumptuous freekick in an U21 game against Tottenham last night which his team won 2-1.

The side will be without the suspended Wayne Rooney for the next three games against Everton, West Brom and Chelsea, with the No. 10 spot open to competition between Juan Mata and Januzaj.

Thw 19-year-old had scored a hat-trick a couple of weeks ago and he didn’t do his chances of a first team berth any harm with this latest strike.

After having a brilliant start to his career under David Moyes last season, the Belgian seems to have fallen in the pecking order behind the superstars United bought this season.

Tom Thorpe, who came on as a substitute against West Ham on the weekend to make his senior debut, headed home the winner.

Whether Louis van Gaal selects Janujaz or not is another matter, but he is certainly not giving up on his United career just yet.

Here is a Vine video of the same.
