The former Juventus man and Italian playmaker, Andrea Pirlo who joined New York City Football Club last summer has proved his astute football sense once again.

Patrick Vieira’s men started their MLS campaign yesterday against the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park. As the match ended 3-4 in favour of the New York-based club, it was Andrea Pirlo who has made the headlines once again.

The 36-year-old former Italian World Cup winner who previously played for clubs like AC Milan and Juventus was seen to point to his fellow teammate Josh Sanders where David Accam was going to put his penalty.

However for some reason, the N.Y.F.C goalie dived the other way, ignoring the veteran’s advice which aided the Chicago club to close the gap to 4-3. The former Puerto Rican international must have breathed a sigh of relief after the final whistle was blown.

It was not the first time yesterday that Pirlo had flaunted his football accumen to the world. Last year on his MLS debut, the Italian legend was seen telling his goalkeeper where Kaka would going to put his free kick at a match between New York City FC and the Orlando Pirates at the Yankees Stadium.

Andrea Pirlo had started his senior career at Brescia and then had gone on to play for clubs like Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus. Over all the years that he had played, Pirlo won six Serie A titles (two for AC Milan and four Juventus) and a couple of Champions League titles which he had won during his days with AC Milan.

The free-kick specialist also has won 116 international caps for the Italian national football team and was a key player for the Azzuris when they lifted the FIFA World Cup back in 2006.
