Video: Barcelona players play a prank on Aleix Vidal

FC Barcelona players resumed training on Monday, fresh from their recent triumph in the Club World Cup which was played in Japan, and quite visibly the atmosphere of the training session was quite jovial. The Blaugrana players played a gag on teammate Aleix Vidal as a part of ‘Innocentes’ day rituals, which is celebrated a couple of days after the Christmas.

The rest of Barcelona players glued a tail on the back of Vidal, who was completely clueless as to what his teammates were up to. Notably, Pique, Adriano, Marc Bartra and Mascherano were the one who kept patting the head of Vidal, who looked completely bewildered of the ongoings. The rightback, who also sometimes plays as a right winger was later told by fellow summer signing Arda Turan that he has been horseplayed by his teammates.

While the whole squad was busy fooling around, surprisingly (or rather unsurprisingly), Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez were engrossed in a deep discussion. Probably the topic of the dialogue between the three was about how they should dismantle the next team they face.

Transfer ban hampered Vidal

The 26-year-old Vidal joined the Catalan club back in June this year, however, he has not been able to make an appearance for the club because of the transfer ban on the La Liga champions. He will be eligible to play for the team once the transfer ban is lifted in January, along with Arda Turan, who was bought from Barcelona’s La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona currently occupy the first position on the La Liga table with 35 points and both the Madrid clubs, Atletico and Real are behind them on second and third respectively. The Rojiblancos have the same amount of points as the Blaugrana, with Los Blancos a couple of points behind them. However, last season’s treble winners have played a match less due to their Club World Cup duties.
