John Terry is the latest sporting luminary to take part in the Shoot for Love football challenge. Blues ladies midfielder Ji So-Yun nominated the Chelsea captain, and he stepped up to the mark outside his home.

Participants in the Shoot for Love challenge take 10 shots at the target on a giant archery board. For every point scored, the Guus Hiddink Foundation make donations to help children suffering from cancer.

After a rocky start, John scored 84 points, which put him in the lead. The global challenge is set to continue after John nominated his friends Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Steven Gerrard.

The campaign has already attracted football royalty from around the world, with Spanish legends Carles Puyol and Raul Gonzalez, Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta, retired Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung, PSV Eindhoven manager Phillip Cocu, Borussia Dortmund Captain Mats Hummels and many others raising funds for children with cancer.

The Shoot for Love campaign was launched by the Guus Hiddink Foundation and Be Kind last May. Since then, it has raised over $200,000.

The Guus Hiddink Foundation is run by renowned football manager Guus Hiddink.

“We are deeply touched by John Terry’s act of kindness. His participation in the challenge will provide vital funds for the children”.

“He gave us so much attention and listened to everything we had to say. He even offered his jerseys and boots for the charity”, said Jun Kim, Director of the Shoot for Love Challenge charity campaign.

“Our goal is to raise childhood cancer awareness on a global scale”.

After completing the challenge, John Terry nominated Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Steven Gerrard
