Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho mocked referee Mike Dean and head of refereeing Mike Riley with a sarcastic speech after Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Sunderland who have put a big dent on Chelsea’s title hopes.

“I only have four things to say,” Mourinho told reporters in his post-match interview. “Congratulations to my players because they gave what they have and what they don’t have. Congratulations to Sunderland because they won.”

And, he went on: “Congratulations to Mike Dean – his performance was fantastic. I think a really amazing performance so congratulations to him. And finally, congratulations to Mike Riley because the way he’s organised things this season, the referees, do really well according to the objectives so congratulations also to him.”

Dean’s decision to award Sunderland a late penalty after a Cesar Azpilicueta was penalised for a foul on Jozy Altidore which didn’t really look like a penalty.
