Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo recreated iconic scenes from the 1990 superhit comedy movie Home Alone while starring alongside his mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro. The 3-time Ballon d’Or winner portrayed the role of Kevin McAllister – an 8-year-old who is left alone at his home as his family goes on a Christmas vacation.
The video has been produced by a Portuguese electrical company – MEO – with Ronaldo portraying the role which was made famous by Macaulay Culkin. Even though Christmas is still more than a month away but that has not stopped big brands from coming up with catchy advertisements. The latest commercial has been produced by MEO to promote their Bluetooth SoundBar.
Ronaldo has already proved his acting credentials earlier having appeared in numerous commercials, most notably for Nike and also a few here and there for Turk Telekom, Armani and MEO.
He has also starred in a documentary named ‘Ronaldo’, which depicts his life and career from his childhood until 2015. The documentary also captures the Portuguese sensation spending time with his family and friends and has inputs from his mother, his son – Cristiano Jr. and his friend and Super Agent Jorge Mendes along with numerous interviews from other famous personalities.
After helping his country win their first ever European Championship in 2016, the 31-year-old has suffered a dip in form by his standards and has received some flak from the Real Madrid faithful. Although Ronaldo has still managed to score 7 goals and assist another 5 in 12 appearances for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit this season.
Earlier this week, Ronaldo extended his contract with Real Madrid which will keep him at the Bernabeu until the 2021 season, his previous contract was set to expire in 2018. Not only that, Ronaldo has also signed a historic deal with Nike worth around $1 billion, which according to the 31-year-old is ‘for life’.
Speaking at the press conference of his contract signing, Cristiano Ronaldo pledged his future to Los Blancos but insisted that this is not the last contract that he will sign in his career.
He said: “No-one knows what the future holds. I’m going to be here for another five years, but let it be known this will not be my last contract. I have said many times that I carry this club in my heart, it is a part of me and it is a special time in my life.”
