If you thought Jerome Boateng was the only defender who Lionel Messi humiliated the way he did in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final, you are wrong. He did the EXACT same thing 6 years ago.
Ustaritz Aldekoaotalora was the victim this time.
In a Super Copa match against Athletic Bilbao back in the 2009-10 season, Lionel Messi humiliated defender Ustaritz en route to scoring the first goal of the match in the 50th minute.
Ustaritz tried the same thing which Boateng did – show Messi to his ‘weaker’ right foot. However, Messi just took the ball to his right foot before dinking the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper.
The only difference between Boateng and Ustaritz was that the German fell, while the Bilbao defender was left reflecting on his mistake while standing on his feet.
