Ligue 1 side FC Lorient made a sensational comeback on Sunday as they earned a 4-4 draw against Montpellier HSC after being down 1-4 in the last 9 minutes of the match.

Montpellier took the lead in the 26th minute with a goal from Remy Cabella, but were soon reduced to 10 men after goalkeeper Geoffrey Jourdren was sent off for a tackle on Jeremie Aliadiere inside the penalty box in the 31st minute.

Aliadiere tucked in the second goal for them from the spot-kick, a shot that substitute goalkeeper Laurent Pionnier wasn’t able to stop.

Montpellier scored again through M’Baye Niang in the 56th minute, and Jean Deza in the 78th minute. Cabella scored again in the 81st minute, securing his brace.

But, what happened next was something no one would have seen coming, as Lorient made one of the greatest comebacks of this season.

It was Kevin Monnet-Paquet who sparked the remarkable comeback with only three minutes to spare. Substitute Vincent Aboubakar fired in the third one after a abysmal pass from goalkeeper Laurent Pionnier. He scored the equaliser with three minutes into stoppage time.
