Would you leave your friends behind if you were offered a VIP ticket to a Champions League match? That’s exactly the dilemma AS Roma fan Simone had when he received a ticket to watch the Round of 16 match against Real Madrid.
Simone and three of his friends regularly get together to watch the Champions League at home, sharing a sofa and cheering their team on. Heineken got in touch with his friends and decided to put that very friendship and camaraderie to the ultimate test.
Simone was handed a VIP ticket to the game at the Stadio Olimpico and he went with a few others to the stadium. He hadn’t told his friends that he was going and even thought about telling them that he was sick. Even when he was on the way, he received a call asking him whether he was coming over to watch the game and he refused to commit himself, even feeling bad about the whole affair.
As expected, his worst nightmare came true while he waited for kickoff. Up on the big screen were his very friends who told the entire stadium that Simone had abandoned them for a VIP ticket – a revelation that was met with boos from the crowd.
