A video has emerged on Goal which showed a journalist’s complete lack of knowledge of Premier League legend Steven Gerrard. He failed to recognize him while he was warming up with LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane and wasn’t sure which one Gerrard was.
Gerrard had made the switch to the American MLS this summer after the conclusion of the Premier League season. He joined LA Galaxy, the same team David Beckham had played for when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean to play the final years of his career.
He was reunited with one-time teammate Robbie Keane who has spent the last four years at Los Angeles playing for the MLS side. While he was warming up with the striker, a journalist was heard asking another who Steven Gerrard was.
As the second journalist pointed out both Keane and Gerrard, the man was still not sure which player the Liverpool legend was until they got into specifics. He finally got his answer when Gerrard started stretching and confirmed it was “the one stretching with his leg out”.
While Gerrard may be a new name for journalists in the United States, surely he should have known who Robbie Keane was?
