The first thing Ronaldo said gives us an insight as to why he is where he is

Ever the brilliant statesman, Ronaldo has said that “If Portugal or Real Madrid had not won, I would not have won this. The team always comes first!”

This is the video of him being awarded the Ballon d’Or thanks to the Real Madrid info twitter account!

Whilst Ronaldo was in Japan when the ceremony happened, L’Equipe and France Football had traveled to Madrid to interview and conduct the photo shoot of Ronaldo’s (as Sportskeeda had reported earlier this month!)

This is why he won – A third Champions League title for himself (one each previously for United and Madrid), and 11th overall for Real Madrid and European Championship success for Portugal – their first ever triumph in any major tournament – successes that no can argue with

To add a little bit of zing to the whole thing, they also tweeted out Cristiano Jr.’s celebration – Paul Pogba would certainly approve!
