Earlier this week, Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace in the Champions League encounter to beat Malmo 2-0. In doing so, he equaled Raul as the all-time highest goalscorer in Real Madrid. What’s more, he broke a number of records and set some personal milestones as well.

And to commemorate this historic feat, Real Madrid released a video chronicling his journey at the Spanish capital club ever since he made a then-world record £80m move from Manchester United. Right from the day he was unveiled as a new signing to scoring his 501st career goal, this video shows it all.

Whether it is those delightful free kicks, the rapid stepovers that leave defenders in a tizzy, getting the better of arch-rivals Barcelona and scoring on a consistent basis in El Clasicos or making supporters take a sharp breath when he leaps over the rest for those incredible headers, the video is a superb highlight reel of the 30-year-old at his very best in the all-white kit.

Ronaldo one goal away from Real Madrid history

Although Raul scored 323 goals in a grand total of 741 official games, Ronaldo has reached the mark in a mere 308 games! That is a goalscoring ratio of more than one goal per game. And in midweek, the Portuguese star also surpassed Raul for most goals scored in the Champions League for Real Madrid. Ronaldo now has 67 goals in Europe’s premier club competition while Raul scored only 66.

He now needs just one more goal to claim the title of Real Madrid’s all-time top goal scorer outright – and he could do it this weekend when they play El Derbi against Atletico Madrid.
