VOTE: Wayne Rooney's 55-yard volley goal better than David Beckham's half-line goal?

Ed Ran

Wayne Rooney has scored some sensational goals for Manchester United in his career, but maybe not many as good as this (yes, we’re not counting the winner in the Manchester Derby).

Getting the better of a defender at the half-line, Rooney pounced on a ball cleared by Ashley Young and unleashed a fierce volley towards goal.

The West Ham goalkeeper, Adrian, was way off his line was hopelessly lost and backpedaled helplessly in the wrong direction toward the right post only to watch the ball bounce in the centre of the six yard box and go in to hit the roof of the net!

Now everyone remembers David Beckham’s goal when Manchester United faced Wimbledon in 1996. With goalkeeper Neil Sullivan off his line, Beckham let fly a shot from the half-line and it soared over a retreating Sullivan and into the goal.

We can’t seem to decide which goal was better! Wayne Rooney’s superb volley under pressure or David Beckham’s brilliance at the half line?
