Manager Roy Hodgson has named Manchester United talisman Wayne Rooney as England captain for the international friendly against Norway at Wembley on September 3rd and the Euro 2016 qualifying match against Switzerland at Basel on September 8. Wayne Rooney was also appointed skipper of his club earlier this month.

The retirements of stalwarts Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard means that there are new faces in the squad.

New Arsenal signing Callum Chambers, Tottenham youngster Danny Rose, Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback and Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph make it to the squad for the first time.
