West Bromwich Albion have confirmed the signing of Tottenham Hotspurs attacker Nacer Chadli for a club record fee of £13 Million. The 27-year-old, who is the Baggies' third summer signing, has put pen to a four-year contract according to Sky Sports.

Nacer Chadli was expected to leave Spurs this summer and reports emerged last week that West Bromwich are keen on getting the player to Hawthorns. The Belgian international was not getting much playing time under Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham and had set his heart set on moving to another club.

Nacer Chadli will now replace Salomon Rondon, who signed for West Bromwich for a fee of £12 million last year, as the club's costliest signing. However, the Belgian is expected to remain as their costliest signing only for a matter of hours as the Baggies are expected to also sign Malaga's Ignacio Camacho for a fee of about £20 Million before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday.

The former FC Twente player will also be retaining the number 22 jersey that he wore with both Belgium National Team and Tottenham Hotspurs. West Bromwich manager Tony Pulis expressed his happiness in signing Chadli by saying that he is happy to have signed a top player. “He’s a top, top player and I’m delighted we’ve got him. I said last week that these signings all had to be about players who would improve our squad – and Nacer does precisely that", the Welsh manager said after completing the signing of Chadli.

The player himself also expressed his delight in signing for the club. "I feel very good to be here. It came very quickly but I spoke to the club and they have a good team, a good manager and I am very pleased to be here. My ambitions? I just want to help the team win as many games as possible", Chadli said in an interview just after signing for West Bromwich Albion.

The Belgian then took to social media to thank the Spurs fans for their three years of support.

Nacer Chadli joined Tottenham Hotspurs from FC Twente for a fee of £7 Million in 2013. The Belgian has scored a total of 25 goals from 119 appearances for the London club. Out of the 25 goals, 15 were s ored in the Premier League.

Even though the 27-year-old was key for Spurs in some their games, he was never able to settle himself in the team's starting eleven. A move away from Tottenham might be the right step for Chadli and West Bromwich could be the place to revive his club career.
