Yaya Toure will continue playing at Manchester City: Manuel Pellegrini

Yaya Toure set to stay according to Manuel Pellegrini

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini said Yaya Toure will not move anywhere this summer despite interest by Inter Milan. The midfielder’s future at City was brought into question when former manager Roberto Mancini suggested that the Ivorian could move to Inter Milan.

Even though Toure has not been able to replicate his form from last season, where he scored 20 Premier League goals, Pellegrini said the 31-year-old is not for sale as he is a crucial part of the team.

In a news conference Pellegrini said, “Yaya is a very important player for our team.

“Maybe all of you are waiting to criticize him or sacrifice him but Yaya will continue playing here because he is a very important player for me and the squad and for everyone.”

Yaya Toure has recently been criticized for his poor performance and was amongst several players blamed for the club's current form. The player's agent, though, believes the club is trying to make Toure a scapegoat for bigger problems behind the scenes.
