Star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has praised the quality of the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) squad after the Ligue 1 champions made history in French domestic football, stretching their unbeaten league run to a record 33 matches.

PSG achieved the landmark on Wednesday with a 3-1 victory over Lorient.

Goals from Edinson Cavani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Layvin Kurzawa proved enough to see off Lorient.

"We have a quality squad and no matter who is on the pitch, the quality remains the same," Ibrahimovic was quoted as saying by goal.com on Thursday.

"We are only interested in winning and we're very happy to have set this new record. We are ready for the big games that are coming up this season."

Thiago Silva recovers from a knee injury

Brazilian defender Thiago Silva returned to action for the French heavyweights after recovering from a knee injury and was delighted with the result at the end.

"I'm happy to be back on the pitch, and to get a win," he said.

"Our first half wasn't good, but we were better in the second half and got this win for the new record. It's very important. Now we need to recover because we have a big game against Marseille on Sunday."
