RB Leipzig players fight for Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s jersey

It’s not everyday that you get to play a top tier team with a world class player like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and it’s rarer still to get your hand on his jersey. And when RB Leipzig, a third division German football club, got the chance to play Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, that’s exactly the opportunity their captain Daniel Frahn got.

As Ibrahimovic was subbed off during the match, Frahn ran up to him to get his hands on the prized shirt. But he was in for a rude shock as Ibrahimovic politely declined.

Why? Because he’d promised it to someone else. Frahn’s team mate – Terrency Boyd!

“Sorry, but I have promised it to this young man,” said Ibrahimovic as he gave Boyd his shirt.

Frahn was livid and told Boyd, “That was disrespectful!” However, he later apologized in the dressing room, probably in a good mood as they had beaten PSG 4-2.

Luckily, while Boyd was apologizing, Ibrahimovic walked over with another jersey to settle the dispute.

Ibrahimovic said: “I had a second, dry jersey with me. The captain can have this one.”

Well played, Zlatan! Well played!
