Players on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will soon be able to try out the popular Gun Game mode. The mode is expected to arrive along with a Double XP weekend this week. Advanced Warfare was missing the popular mode, which is present in previous entries, but Sledgehammer has now revealed that the mode will be included in the Double XP update.

A few players spotted the missing Gun Game mode when they were looking through the games code. Sledgehammer co-founder, Michael Condrey, then teased about the mode through his tweet, which revealed the loading screen of a Gun Game match. You can check out his tweet below:

The Gun Game Mode was first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops and was inspired by the Counter-Strike mode. The match has upto 6 players in a “free-for-all” style battle where each player will begin the game with pistols. There are about 20 weapons in a match, and a player’s weapon is switched each time he scores a kill. To win the match, players will have to kill using each of these 20 weapons.

The mode was present in other Call of Duty titles, like Ghosts, Black Ops 2, and Modern Warfare. The mode was also supposed to be included in Advanced Warfare but it seems that Sledgehammer did not have enough time before the launch.

Besides the new mode, the game is also slated to get a One Shot Most Pit Playlist and Gear Drops. Sledgehammer is yet to reveal the new gears that will be added but this will be revealed once Double XP weekend arrives February 13th.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare received its first DLC pack for the Xbox One last month. Dubbed the ‘Havoc’ pack, the DLC contained four new maps, new weapons, a star-studded cast and an Exo-zombie mode. The Havoc DLC is expected to arrive on February 26th for the PlayStation and PC platforms.
