PC release for Grand Theft Auto V delayed till March, Rockstar reveals system requirements

Grand Theft Auto V

It seems that the rumours about a possible delay for the upcoming PC version of Grand Theft Auto V have turned out to be true. Rockstar has announced that their highly anticipated PC release of GTA V has been delayed to March 24th, 2015. The game was originally slated to launch on January, a mere two weeks from now. So the announcement seems pretty last minute and strange given how close we were to the original release date.

Rockstar has apologised for the delay stating that the game needed some extra polish and promised fans that the delay will be “worth it when the game does arrive in March”

“Our apologies for the slight shift in the date but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be. Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans. Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March.”

This also means that console gamers will get to experience the free Heist update for GTA Online before PC gamers. Rockstar has explained that GTA Online for PC will be launching alongside GTA V for PC, so players can try the feature immediately on the launch day.

“GTA Online for PC, which will support up to 30 players, will launch alongside GTAV for PC and will include GTA Online Heists. Online Heists for consoles will be launching in the coming weeks ahead of the PC launch.”
