Ozil has been instrumental in transforming Arsenal’s season

Arsenal’s record signing Mesut Ozil has declared that he is fit for their trip to Hull City tomorrow will a light-hearted picture on Instagram.

The German, who cost the club £42 million last summer, has been injured for several weeks and missed the last six league games. He sustained a hamstring injury in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Bayern Munich as the Gunners were knocked out of the competition.

He was criticised for his performance that night but it soon became a case of his body holding him back rather than something else. His manager Arsene Wenger was hopeful that he would return to the team this weekend as Arsenal bid to protect their top four place ahead of Everton, who face Manchester United.

Ozil was to take a late fitness test prior to the match and a decision would be made on whether he could play, but he has resolved any worries by posting a smiling picture of himself in training along with the words, ‘I am back #gunners #afc #behappy’.

The German had come in for a lot of criticism before his injury for a long run of stale performances and a lack of guile in the final third. He joined a long list of injured Arsenal players but will be hoping to end the season as well as he started it. Arsenal will certainly need him to regain his form or the risk missing out on the Champions League for the first time under Wenger.
